Greetings Support Community, I will try to be as complete as possible so I can really get to the bottom of this issue. I recently purchased a used Traktor Kontrol S2 Mk1 to use on my Early 2008 Macbook running Lion 10.7.5. The version of Traktor Scratch Pro 2 that is on there is 2.6.8. I have downloaded and installed (many times) the S2 driver for the 10.7 Macbook that is on the Free Downloads section, but have not had any success in using the Kontrol S2 as a controller. All buttons are unresponsive, yet the software recognizes it for Audio Output and works just fine as a sound card. The USB light on the controller stays on (no blinking) and I'm not getting any light that indicates an error. Using my significant other's computer, a Macbook running El Capitan 10.11.6, I downloaded the latest Traktor Pro Scratch 2.11 (I think). I was able to use Controller Editor successfully to assure that the controller was responsive. I then launched the Traktor software and was able to use the Kontrol S2 without any problems. I have read many posts on the Support Community, tried different suggestions such as reiinstalling Traktor 2, to no avail. Is there a problem with the driver that is on the Downloads page or is this a case where I may need to start from scratch and be better at uninstalling Traktor? Josh Rodriguez October 18, 2016 21:24 SOLUTION FOUND! Replying in case anyone else that might run into this particular problem. Make sure the Traktor Kontrol S2 Mk1 is unplugged. Don't even touch it. I first uninstalled Traktor Pro 2 for Mac OSX exactly how the steps on the Native Instruments website suggested. I even uninstalled Controller Editor and NIHardwareAgent. Here's the link: I reinstalled Traktor Pro 2, restarted my computer, and booted up the program. The popup where it asks you to DEMO it, BUY it, or ACTIVATE it came up. I pressed ACTIVATE and it took me to the ServiceCenter that comes along with Traktor Pro 2. I closed Traktor Pro 2 while ServiceCenter was up. After activation, I looked under the tab Drivers & Other Files. I noticed the Kontrol S2 Driver 1.0.8 for Mac 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7 showed up. This did not show up when I looked before. I downloaded it, pressed install, and restarted my computer. Once restarted, I launched Traktor Pro 2, pressed Preferences, and clicked on Setup Wizard. The pop up told me to plug in all USB devices before continuing, so this is where I finally plugged in my Kontrol S2 and turned it on. I pressed Next, and it immediately went to how many track decks/remix decks I wanted. At final step where the Wizard reviews your choices, Traktor Pro 2 successfully realized my Kontrol S2 was plugged in! TL;DR - Uninstall Traktor Pro 2, Reinstall Traktor Pro 2, Install Kontrol S2 Driver from ServiceCenter. Thanks for looking into this, Josh.
